hi my names Mark i had prob with motor revving up to +- 2500rpm & 3000rpm tried all forums and everything it told me to do i did. then one day i was just checking to see if there were any vacuum leaks i leaned over the motor while it was idling "at a high revv" and supported my weight holdind on to the water reserve bottle, it actually slipped back against the body ito its propper possition and lifted the hoses that where hanging on the loom plugged into the ecu....prob solved...make sure your hoses arent resting on ecu plugged wiring
YES,IF YOU DO IT RIGHT
mite be the icv (located near the rev cable) that needs cleaning i had same problem idling around 400 and sometimes cutting out a carb cleaner will clean it
all crs do dat a lot. corsa would rev caus is a sml car so lghtr
maybe your riding the clutch
Didnt say what year or whether petrol or diesel. Either way, most modern cars have "rev limiter", which is essentially an electronic governor that makes the car "idiotproof"...i.e. does not allow you to rev past recommended engine speeds lest mechnical fault (bursting engine, so to speak)...
If it's an Isuzu engine diesel eg 1.5TD, check the alternator. On round pin plug type the green wire is the feed but it may be a dodgy alternator - common on these because they sit so low and get a lot of dirt in. Pat
Vacuum hose off?
The icv is located next to the rev cable.
hi the black smoke is your injectors should get them checked out. if they are the electrical 1s, they charge to test them, if they the non machincal version its free to test them.
Sounds to me like the gaerbox hasn't been fitted properly. does reverse work. You may need to recheck the gear sprockets in the gearbox. Rev counter may only be a loose cable. sounds like the gear rod is out of alignment that or a selector is bust check fuses and connections for the rev counter
it sounds like European car if it is gasoline powered it sounds like a vacuum leak if it is a diesel engine it indicates abnormal fuel flow a
Most likely to be the number 1 injector. It has electrics bult in. Get the codes read first though.
