my window in my 1992 toyota wont go all the way up
Window motor getting tired?
THAT MEANS THAT THE WINDOW IS NOT INITALIZED AND TO DO THAT YOU NEED HOLD THE WINDOW SWITCH ALL THE WAY UP AND HOLD IT THERE FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN PUT THE WINDOW DOWN AND HOLD THE SWITCH DOWN FOR A COUPLE SECONDS AND THEN IT SHOULD BE OK
It might need a new regulator or ... just a small adjustment.
The driver's power window in the pilot has an auto up/down function, the rest do not. To use this, pull/push the window past the first 'stop' and if you let go, it will go all the way up or down automatically. FIX: 1. Start the car and leave it idle. 2. Hold the window button down all the way, until the window is completely down. 3. Let go and push it down again and hold the window button for 2 to 3 seconds then let go. (You should be able to hear or feel (very faintly) the motor/sensor reset.) 4. Pull up on the window button and roll the window up until it is all the way up, when it is up let go. 5. Pull the button up again for 2 to 3 seconds. (You should be able to hear or feel (very faintly) the motor/sensor reset.)
unbolt the window from the regulator and push the window all the way up and tape window to door then run the motor all the way up til it stops then reattach widow to regulator.
Remove the rear door panel. The entire window mechanism will be visible. Adjust the linkage to allow the window to go all the way up.
Mercedes window wont go up
Power the window all the way down then hold it for five seconds after its completely down. then power the window all the way up and hold it for an additional five seconds. The convertible top should be up during this window 'reset'.
The wheel wells protrude into the door. That is why the bottom of the door is arched. There is no where for the window to go. it would hit the top of the wheel well.
Try re-learning the window regulators. Do this to both windows one at a time: Open the window all the way, do not let up on the window switch. Keeping it pressed down you will hear a faint "click" inside the door. Now release the button and do the opposite- raise the window all the way to the top. Do not let up on the window switch until you hear the faint "click" inside the door. Now do the other side...this usually fixes 90% of your window timing issues on an XKR or XK8.
