It is accessed from under the hood. It is located in the front of the engine next to the power steering fluid reservoir, and it takes a 36mm socket or wrench to remove the oil filter housing cover.
i dont understand your question. you state to dont comment under the hood but to check for power steering fluid, the only way is to do it under the hood, anywayss..........pop your hood and the power steering reservoir is in a small black container the holds about a pint of fluid, on top is cap with a dip stick attached for one to check. good luck.

When you car is sitting still and it is extremely hard to turn but as you get going you can turn easier

The alternator on this car is mounted at the front of the motor on the driver's side. It is above the power steering pump. To remove it it's best to remove the MAF sensor for easy access to the bracket.
Disconnect battery.
