Passenger outboard footwell (where your right foot would be if sitting in the passenger seat). There's a small, plastic, rectangular access door that just pops off with your finger to reveal the fuses. There should be a sticker with a legend on the inside of the access door that tells you what each fuse supplies. #s 1 and 2 are the common ones blown by DIY work (like replacing the radio or interior light bulbs, etc).
A fuse box diagram for this car can be found in the cars owners manual. It can also be found on inside the cover of the fuse box.
The fuse box is located in the engine compartment, on the driver side next to the brake master cylinder. It is quite a noticable box. Remove the lid, and you will find the fuses under it. Some models may have separate fuse boxes or inline fuses in the engine compartment for additional equipment. The radio fuse is usually a separate inline glass fuse behind the radio. Various relays are located in the fuse box as well.

Fuse Box for 1982 El Camino is located underneath the dash on the driver side, left of the brake pedal, by door panel... sometimes its a little hidden but its there unless someone has rewired the car in the past...
My 82 Mercedes continues to run after I turn it off with the key. I was told I needed to replace one or both of the shut off valve. What is the procedure to do that?
chilton's auto repair 82-92 camaro, not the big auto repair book. Also, Hayne's is not the same, no fuse diagram, but it does have wiring diagrams. You can also find it in the Haynes manual
There is no such thing as "an 82 Mercedes". There are (and were) several different models made my Mercedes, so you will have to specify the model you are interested in. And then there are different tanks. The diesels tend to have a smaller tank than the petrol versions (on a C 200 at least), so you need to be quite specific.
the Yamaha symbol underneath your headlight is your fuse box, remove the two screws and there they are. there are also some relays underneath your seat if you havn't already found those.
Remove 4 screws from panel directly below steering column. Fuses are mounted on the back. Fuse box pops off of panel but I find it easier to just pull the screws, and that way the clip won't break off like my '82.
your resistor is under the glove compartment next to the blower motor
Have you checked the glove box?
