Hello cobber, OK I have had to remove it and clean it as it wasn't working well. I wish other car makers made it so simple to access- firstly open the bonnet so it is Straight up then you will see where there is a black mesh plastic grill this needs to come out. The fan is centrally located under the Wiper motor. Its all straight forward, there is a plastic plate that needs to come out held with clips. I am typing this from memory as I did it a few years ago. The fan is located inside of it. Think yourself lucky you have a Mercedes, a friend has a later Holden Car and to access the Blower in that, the windscreen had to come out and the WHOLE dash. part cost to repair $ 70 for part plus $2,000 to remove and replace Windscreen and whole dash and install. Good luck, pretty easy to do. cheers John

The blower motor resistor on a Mercedes 300e is located beneath the blower motor on the Mercedes 300e, if ever it needs replacing.
The blower motor on a Mercedes Benz 300e is changed by disconnecting the wiring harness and unbolting the blower from its housing. The motor is then lifted away and a new blower motor connected.
need to locate the blower motor on Mercedes 300E 3.0 motor
Open the bonnet, remove the scuttle cover, wiper motor, and finally blower motor.
To replace the blower motor on a C230 compressor of a Mercedes Benz, remove the bolts holding the motor in place. It is next to the blower, under the passenger side of the dashboard. Replace with new and reinstall the bolts.
Hummm!! it Seems it is a known problem with Mercedes from 94 to 98. Is two problemsThe blower motor resistor can be defective andthe blower motor itself.
the blower motor is accessible thru firewall engine compartment.below center wiper mech.inside a plastic housing.
you access the fan blower by removing the windshield wiper motor from the outside of the car.
you could have anything from a fuse to a blower motor problem ,,the blower moter is under the wiper assembly ,,, remove the assembly by removeing the 10 mill bolts ,,, and the plastic cover on the blowermotor houseing is held on with clips ,,, also check the blower resistor module which is in the blower housing
your resistor is under the glove compartment next to the blower motor
Passenger side under hood on firewall. Remove screws and lift cover over A/C filter-remove filter and there is the blower motor.
