Most cars have the first cylinder opposite the gear box. French cars are generally the exception. It is in the front of your car.

well one thing i would cheak is you muffler it could be leaking out there if so you have a craked block --- I had a '93 Passat with a bad head gasket. The water was leaking into cylinder #1 and evaporating into the exhaust, completely bypassing the oil. The VW mechanic said this was not uncommon. The car passed the coolant pressure test, but when the mechanic pulled the spark plugs he could see the coolant in the cylinder using a flashlight.
