The 4 cylinder 1994 Ranger uses a MAF sensor, not a MAP sensor. It is located very close to the air cleaner. Air flows through the air filter, then past the MAF sensor, and then into that long, odd-shaped black plastic tube to the throttle body. You can find the MAF sensor very easily by locating the air filter and then looking for an electrical fitting with some wires going to it. If you remove the MAF aluminum-body sensor..the only thing you can do for it is clean it; CAREFULLY spray some of Radio Shack's Tuner cleaner into the open port in the middle. DON'T STICK any objects down there as you can break the heating element inside the port. Use only a cleaner that leaves no residue and after let dry 15-20 min. If your truck does have a MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE (MAP) sensor it should be on the intake manifold or connected to it.
bueno, el MAF se puede limpiar con MAF cleaner. solo tienes que desmontar el maf, esprayar cuidadosa mente el liquido en el maf. si usas el popote con el que viene la lat, trata de no tocar los componentes del MAF con esto, pues son muy delicados. luego de limpiar, deja secar por 15 minutos para asegurarte que no quede humedad. y LISTO!!! ya puedes ensmablar tu MAF!!!!

MASS AIR FLOW SENSORS NOT RECAMENDED TO CLEAN SOME CAN BE AJUSTEDYou must remove the MAF from the air intake hose. Then, where the air flows through, inside you will see a small wire, this is a resister. Spray CRC MAF cleaner inside, cleaning the grid as well as the resister . Let it dry for about 15 to 30 minutes, it doesn't take that long but better safe than sorry, then reinstall the MAF sensor. Remember to plug it back in to the system. Be sure and put a dielectric in the plug before plugging it back in.The best cleaner to use is is CRC Mass airflow cleaner, because it is less abrasive. You must be careful what you put on it, you can destroy the resister, and most MAF cost 200.00 and up, so be careful there.
You need electrical contact cleaner in a spray can. Flathead screwdriver and a Torx 15. Locate the sensor on the drivers side just behind the air filter. There are 2 wire going into it. Use the flathead screw driver and slide the red retainer clip straight back toward the drivers side fender. This is a clip to lock the plug connector in place. With the retainer clip slide back, use the flat head to gently pry the connector off the sensor. Then use the 15 Torx and remove the 2 screws . Slide out the sensor. Do not touch it !!! Spray the cleaner into the sensor and lit it dry. Reverse the instructions to re-install

problem with the coolant sensor check the connection on the sensor reset your OBD I code if that don't work replace the coolant sensor
