Bmw 528 1997 not start
On the motor
The crank shaft sensor on a 1998 BMW 74Oil is located down near the crank on the front of a motor. It is super easy to replace but sometimes reaching the harness wire is a little bit difficult.
Located next to the crankshaft pulley
BMW Compact was created in 1993.
Nope, it has a Timing Chain. Which is better then a belt, because beltsstretchafter ages. Chains do not.
Check the BMW for ignition fire. Check the coil pack. Check the distributor or crank sensor depending on the year of the car.
TRY UNHOOKING THE BATTERY FOR 10 MIN THEN RECONNECT IT ...IT MAY HAVE TO GO TO THE GARAGE TO HAVE A COMPUTER RESET THE CODES ?
YOU MHAVE TO WAIT FOR OVER FIFTY MILES OF DRIVING MAYBE 75 IF AFTER THAT IT WONT GO OUT THEN COMPUTER WILL HAVE TO BE RESET AT DEALERS
You need to find out if you have injector pulase. if you dont have injector pulase and spark check crank sensor
if you are facing the engine it will be on the left upperside of the crank pully, on a target wheel. is it hard to remove and replace
I would assume not as the sensor is needed to calibrate & adjust spark timing & fuel delivery. However not being a qualified BMW mechanic this is only my opoinion. Hope this helps?
