I own an Alfa 156 2.0 twinspark. It is the best handling/drivers car I have ever owned. But you need to be an enthusiast to live with one. They are quirky and high maintenance,Alfa don't tell you that you'll need to change timing belts every 30k miles or that if it ever runs low on oil it will blow up immediately..But once you're aware of it's little foibles it's fine.Look after it and you'll be fine. And don't buy a Selespeed. They don't work.
Depends on what type it is. For a JTS veloce Alfa recommend a 10W-60. Other models are 10W-40 but this again depends on temperatures encountered. Selenia is the preferred manufacturer. Try this link to narrow it down. http://www.shop4parts.co.uk/index.cfm?action=catalogue.list
