purchase the pcv valve from dealer and get free diagram of its location along with purchase. Usually, you disconnect the whose attached to the valve and pull the valve out.
The PCV valve is mounted beside of the alternator on an 03 Duramax. The valve has two hoses, one for each valve cover.
The PCV value on a 2003 Dodge Durango is on the side of the oil fill shaft.
It is on the TOP of the drivers side valve cover in the back towards the fire wall.
Jeep uses an orfice line, not a pcv system. They can only be purchased at the dealer.
They are in the center of the valve covers with a tube running from them to the air intake one is about 20" long and one is about half that length.
From the manual: 5.7L V-8 The PCV valve is mounted into the top of the intake manifold, located to the right / rear of the throttle body (Fig. 12). The PCV valve is sealed to the intake manifold with 2 o-rings (Fig. 13). (1) Remove PCV valve by rotating counter-clockwise 90 degrees until locating tabs have been freed. After tabs have cleared, pull valve straight up from intake manifold. (2) After valve is removed, check condition of 2 valve o-rings.

The PCV valve is located on the passenger side of the engine bay, directly connected to the engine oil filler tube/funnel. It is an L shaped plastic tube, with rubber hose attached to one end, and the engine oil filler tube/funnel on the other. For ease removal, detach the rubber hose first. Then twist the PCV valve about 1/4 turn until you feel a slight click and then gently pull to remove. Only try to remove the PCV value when the engine is cool. There are hot pipes near by that can easily cause a burn/blister.
Yes, there is a problem with the design of the 2002-2003 valve covers. It's best to replace them with valve cover (rocker cover) for a 2004 maxima. They are exact fit, work better and are MUCH cheaper than the 02-03 valve covers. You must order gaskets seperately and the 04 valve covers come with a new PCV as well.
