there is no best but any EP rated oil will kill your gearbox. It eats away the brass. go to the forum at www.mirafiori.com and view the many discussion threads on the best gearbox oil.
go and sell the peugeot and dont buy another one in your life, this is the only way not to change the gearbox oil, but to make your life easier
I assume you mean the firing order? 1.3.4.2. with No 1 at the timing belt end to No 4 at the gearbox end.

Hi Remove plastic covering where the gear change cable go. You'll see the oil level / filler plug on the gearbox casing. 8mm hex head to loosen. Have fun

I also have a 2005 Range Rover. I am a mechanic also. The factory recommends ONLY synthetic oil every 15,000 miles. I change my oil and filter every 7,500 miles. It is simply against my beliefs to go 15,000 miles. It is up to you, but I'd do it every 7,500 miles at LEAST. Good Luck with it! BABABONDOMAN
Sounds like your gearbox or clutch may have messed up. Check your clutch and gearbox fluids and then secondly check the clutch plates and gearbox.
