Your emergency lights are on.
Police lights are the red and blue lights that use in an emergency. It was invented by a Superintendent of Signals for the Police Department of Detroit in 1920.
this car may have separate flashers for the turn signals and the emergency flashers
It is your multifunction switch that has gone out. It is located in the steering column. I used my emergency lights and it blew out brake lights, turn signals, and emergency lights. In newer models Chevy did a recall not so for our older models. Mine is a 1995.
Sounds like a bad connection or a bad relay.
Check the bulbs - they are doubloe filamented with the smaller being for brake/turn signals Check the fuses
It is probably a reference to a system which (if it is installed) "reads" signals from authorized emergency vehcles (law enforcement, EMS or FD) and automatically changes the intersection traffic lights to favor the direction in which the emergency vehicle is travelling.
the most common thing is a faulty multifunction switch.
you might have a bad Flasher relay.
