Hi There, I own a 2001 Jetta 1.8T. The minimum octain rating information is located on the inside of the gas cap door, and I believe that minimum is 91octain. This isn't to say that you can't use 87 octain, or regular fule. Doing so however you'll notice a loss in power, and a possible engine nock. The engine nock results from when the detonation inside the cylinder is not as powerful, causing the valves to sound louder. hope this helps.
Hi there, Im so sorry to hear about your vw jetta going down the pan - ive been through this myself and you know what they say - a vw lost is a vw lost! Im afraid theres not much i can do - could it be out of petrol?

how many quarts of oil required for a 2001 4 cylinder Jetta
I have a 2003 Jetta, 1.8T. I get 30MPG consistantly on the highway. One time in summer I traveled 400+ miles and got 35MPG. I use high quality gas like Chevron and always 92 octane.
91 Octane rating always with the turbo. The price difference is nominal compared to performance. The higher octane also ignites at a lower temperature, ensuring better ignition and better performance. Love that turbo - mine is a MKIV.
Always use synthetic oil and at least 91 octane gas, I use 93 for the hell of it, I like to protect my car. Also if your chipped go for 93 octane. check forums.vwvortex.com for an awesome v-dub commnunity.
Yes they are. A hydraulic press is required for removing them.
The air pump supplies the catayltic converter with air required to burn 'unburned fuel' as required. Teh EMS will turn it on as needed.
