It means your brake pads need changing.
It could be your Brake Light Switch. My 2001 E430 wouldn't go into gear from parking and the ABS ASR light was lit. The switch cost about $24.00. It is located behind your brake pedal.

ASR is like just as the same as traction control on American cars, if one of the wheels lose traction on the road and spin more than the others the ASR will engage and electronically apply the brakes on that wheel, if it happens on 2 wheels it will apply the brakes to both wheels and slow the engine down.
u have to take it out then see if its blown out or if it isn't if it is and your car is a 1999 you have to buy a 2002.... so it wont get blown
