why does oil come out of dipstick on a1996 12v commin
if oil is blowing out dipstick hole, this indicates that the inside of engine and oil pan are pressurizing.check to make sure oil filler cap is venting and not clogged.if this is not the problem, the other cause is broken piston rings causing pressurization of engine
you fill it up till the oil come the top hole witch is the same hole in witch you put the oil in.
you will either have a hatch mark or a hole drilled in the dipstick if you have the hatch mark then at the bottom of the mark if a hole then the bottom hole
Only two things. If there is no oil showing on the dipstick, there is not enough oil in the engine.OrThe dipstick is not pushed all the way in place.
Older engines have the dipstick on the driver's side. There is a hole in the side of the block between 5 & 7. Newer ones have the dipstick tube in the passenger side of the oil pan.
Take the dipstick out out put it through the small hole were the dipstick goes
the dipstick hole is on the passengers side about 2 inches behind the knock sensor *on pre 1978 blocks the hole is on the drivers side in the same orientation as mentioned The dipstick hole is kind of right behind the starter. If your dropping it in an older vehical you wont have the knock sensor of course.
there should be two hole near the bottom of dipstick if the oil is at the top of the second hole from the bottom its full if its at the bottom hole its a quart low
Look near the spark plugs on the front of the engine. Just to the left and below the oil fill cap on the valve cover.
A broken engine dipstick should not cause anything or have an effect on anything. A broken dipstick will make it impossible to check the engine oil and should be replaced as soon as possible.
Blow-by (Bad engine rings)
