The Volvo dealer in south western CT made me a duplicate of the key for a 1998 V70 for about $12.00. I had bought a used ignition cylinder on eBay that came with only one key, but they had no problem replicating it even though the vin # was unavailable. After '98 the keys came with computer chips and duplicates were far more costly.
what is the bolt patern for a s70 Volvo 98
My 98 did this and it was a clogged fuel injector. Someone else: my 99 V70 used to stall when I was stopping. Not all the times, but sometimes. There was a recall regarding the ETC (electronic throttle control) - a software update, done free by the Volvo dealership. No stalling since. But starting to get electrical problems. Back gate does not lock/unlock from the remote (I have to use the key); lights for the plates do not light up. Intermittent faults shown on the display - they come and go.

Volvo didn't make an S70 in 94. only 98, 99, and 00
I had a similar problem with my S70 and discovered the headlight switch was defective. The switch had actually begun to separate causing the contacts for the tail lights not to make contact. Try having someone observe the tail lights while you push on the headlight switch. If the tail lights begin to work, replace the headlight switch.
The turn signal relay is part of the emergency flasher switch. Using a small pick tool you simply pull the switch, located in the center console right in front of the shifter knob, straight out. The relay is part of the switch and is replaced as a unit. Once the switch is removed simply unplug the connector on the back of the switch.
There is no kill switch on a 1998 Trans Am.
The gap is from .024 to .028 inches.
