The key is faulty or the immobilizer will not accept the code. remove the battery for 30 mins to allow the system to reset.

It is flashing to let you know a trouble code for the transmission is stored in the computer. You have to take it to a shop to have the code read to find out what is wrong.

1. Turn the ignition on, to where you would normally enter the code. 2. enter the code as usual, not touching the key. 3. press the "c" button once. 4. enter the new code. 5. press the "c" button again, this will be confirmed by 4 beeps.
It is flashing a code for you to use in determining the reason the flashing purpose. in other words it has determined that there is a problem with the air bag system. it will flash the code for 5 times and the the light will stay on. it will be a 2 digit code. count the flashes to determine the code. Your Ford dealer can tell you what the codes mean and where to look for the problem.

insert the red key into the ignition barrel. watch the immobilizer light go out. remove red key. put in the key that you want to code, straight away. wait a few seconds. remove key. immobilizer light comes on. insert the key that you have just coded. immobilizer light should go out. start engine.
