The rear door lock on a 1996 Chevy Suburban will not open if the mechanism has become jammed or the child lock switch has been flipped. If the child lock has been engaged, they must be unlocked from the front first.
Access in rear door panel, allows you to lock/inlock rear door.
Buy a can of lock unfreeze or wd-40
because a seat belt might be jammed
how do you replace rear door lock assembly on 92 pONTIAC tRANSPORT
May have to remove rear seats and get in from there
Nine times out of ten the easiest and cheapest way to fix this is replace it with a working one from the wreckers. Are you sure it doesn't have child lock on?
On the inside upper frame of the rear passanger door when open there are 5 bronze pegs that make contact with the door when closed, if these become dirty the electrical contact will not lock the rear door. Take fine grade sandpaper or steelwhool and shine them up, close the door and try it again.
my discovery 3 rear door lock will not lock with remote
Well, isn't that a happy little challenge! To open the rear hatch from the inside of your 2000 Pontiac Montana, you may need to remove the interior panel and manually release the latch mechanism. Just take your time, follow the contours of the panel, and soon you'll have that hatch swinging open like a door to a beautiful meadow. Remember, there are no mistakes, just happy little accidents in the world of fixing things.
