Mercedes Benz is a reputable company offering good luxury SUVs. The ml320 has good ratings and decent gas milage so it can be considered a good SUV. Other factors like the year it was made and quality of the car parts are also factors to be considered.
I will let you know after I have ran mine for a while I just put in a mix of castrol synthetic 5w50 and lucas transmission treatment in a k44 tuff-tork transmission (supposedly a sealed system, but it is really not sealed) on a john deere L120.
Motul Dexron III Synthetic. It's made in France. Really good.
I use 5W40 instead of 5W20 because I use my car in heavy duty conditions. I will never use the lighter oils just because it is not worth loosing the engine at 100,000 miles. Emission control test prove it. I have only praise for this oil. I used 5W40 and moved up to 5W50 as the engine reached 50,000 miles. That engine is out of warranty and the only benefit is it will outlast the rest of the car. Good luck. Not an easy decision to make as there are experts out there who know everything and nothing.
Mercedes Benz factory approved service products book, synthetic engine oilonly, viscosity grades depends on air temperatures but 10w-30 is good, check with local parts store.
Most people would say "Mobil 1" because it is the most highly advertised synthetic oil and it's a good product. But, Pennzoil Platinum synthetic is just as good or better. And it's slightly less expensive. I use it in my wife's SLK280.
I have an ML 320 and I know everytime i do an oil change, the mechanics always use synthetic brand. It is Recomendec for MERCEDES BENZ. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes synthetic for sure. Mobil 1 is very good. Grade - depends on the weather. 5W-30, or 10W-30 work well. 0W-40 for really cold weather.
Havoline Synthetic is just as good as any other synthetic.
yes Mercedes Benz is a extremely good car
Yes, Synthetic oil is synthetic oil no matter who makes it.
Any major brand is good. Use the exact weight as recommended in your owner's manual. I would guess that would be 5w20. Look and see or call a Mercedes dealer to be sure. The recommended type is Mobil 1 0W/40W fully synthetic - MB have been using that on mine for the past 7 years. It might vary slightly but fully synthetic is best and Mobil 1 is endorsed by MB.
You should follow the service recommendations in the user manual. But generally if you are using a good synthetic oil you should change the oil and the filter every 15,000 miles.
