disconect the sensor and take out the two small screws carefull not to loose them, and pull the sensor out, it may feel stuck but kinda wiggle itll come then take non-chlorinated brake cleaner and spray it in there, last very carefull use compressed air to blow dry it. DO NOT USE FULL PRESSURE YOU CAN BRAKE THE WIRES INSIDE
it doesnt have a map senser it has a mass air flow senser. located in air intake tube between throttle body anr air cleaner. stoped using map senser in 94 the 93 was last year with map senser.
Do you use a K&N airfilter?
I take it this is a NON supercharged engine thus no resisiter for the fuel pump.. Another odd issue these negines has was if the spark plug wires were routed too close to the transmission speed sensor on the front of the engei nby the fire wall the plug wires would spike the speed sensor and make the engine stall.. make sure they are routed wayd from that transmission harness. You can try this laos with the engine runnimng wiggle the connctor on the mass air flow sensor and see if the car dies if so the sensor is bad... Last ditch effort is to got back to the dealer and ask them to hook up the data recorder and you can take a "snap shot" of the engein control system when it dies to see what happens..
Could be cam sensor, crank sensor, throttle position sensor, mass airflow sensor or the magnet on the crank. We just replaced all of the above and found out the hard way it was the last...and cheapest. Pull the cam sensor, look at the end of your cam and see if the magnet is damaged.
The O2 sensor is not a regular maintenance item that needs replacing at a set time or mileage. Replacing a fully functional O2 sensor will not improve performance or mileage. The ECU will set a fault code and alert you to a faulty O2 sensor. They should easily last 100,000 miles.
It will have a shorter lifetime. The Sun should last about 10 times longer.
The Last Supper
Every 60,000 miles, though some can last longer before failing enough to cause you to fail smog.
if the car runs like crap then you could try replacing it. see if it is faulty by unplugging it. the car should run crappier when you do this. when you plug it back in it should be happy again. you really don't need to touch the MAF unless it gets really fouled by some oil, but even then it has a heated element which will burn off the oil. get a book to your car here, only certain years: http://www.germanautoparts.com/Books/BMW. if you want to clean it out it may help but the MAFs last forever unless they've been through a hurricane or drowned in some water.
it last for 1 year or malfunction
Bank 2 sensor is on passenger side of car . Sensor 2 is located to the rear of the exhaust pipe . The last one
