there is a screw clearly in back of the door handle along with a screw behind the door lock, you must remove the plastic lock switch and find the screw there. also a screw under the panel holding the door tray, but optional. then slide the door panel out upwards
There are a number of reasons why your door might not lock. You could have something stuck in the door for example.
Try contacting an auto body shop or the dealership! If they can't help you, put an add in the paper or on line. Another way is to remove the lock by taking out the screw even with the lock at the edge of the door. Install the lock in the reverse order. A locksmith can also do this.
If it is the same as the 49 car, on the same eye level as the lock look for a hole on the end of the door, it may be covered by the door seal, if you can move the door seal aside look through the hole an there is a allen head set screw that holds the lock in place, loosen and pull lock out.

To extract the lock from the door you have to remove the two revits holding the window sliding bar Carefully sneek the lock down and out through the opening at the bottom of the door. Reverse the process for fitting.

For front door lining assy(assembly)-remove screws from the following: 1)door latch, 2)door pull pocket 3)screw right beneath the front side mirror area (uncap it first to reveal the screw) 4)screw located on courtesy door lamp (remove the courtesy door lamp lens first to reveal the screw) and then remove the latch bezel to reveal the lock rod. Pry the lock rod clip very carefully to remove door latch, remove door lining clips from the door metal panel using a special prying tool for door trim clips (sometimes a flat head screw driver would do, but you need to be careful not to damage the clips or the door trim clip mountings. After un-clipping it all, push the door lining panel upwards to remove the whole assy. Finally, detavch connectors from power window switches and speaker. To install it back, do the reverse of the above.
first take the door panel off then with the door open lock and unlock the car you"ll see the actuator it could have a 10 ml bolts or can have rivets on it (-) if it does have rivets first push the center piece of the rivet off with an screw driver then with a flat screw driver and hammer brake the rivet off.
normally on the edge of the door you will see a small little lever you move to the opposite way. or there mite be a small white plastic screw head that you turn,in the edge of the door lock.
im sure you noticed its a very common problem theres a pin that connects the tailpiece to the lock cylinder that falls out use a 4mm allen wrench pull back the molding and find the hole that accesses the retaining screw for the lock be careful not to drop the screw into the door the whole lock piece will come out and you can see if the pin is missing or tailpiece is broken if its missing replace it with a proper sizes roll pin or screw and locking nut dealer used a cotter pin on mine and it ended up breaking the tailpiece off the cylinder i just switched with the passenger door lock and used that .replacing the lock is about 80 at dealer you will need your vin
Get a Tension and a screwdriver and pocketknife.... Use the PocketKnife to slip the pocketknife through the side of the door.... Use the screw driver to broke the lock..... Use the tension to pick it.....
