I had this problem on my 2000. I lubed all the fittings, especially upper and lower ball joints and the noise went away. Chevy wants you to lube every oil change. If you still hear the noise you'll have to replace. Check the Anti-Sway Bar bushings and where they attach to the A-Arm.
Yes
simple take wheel off ....grab 6mm allen key socket.remove caliper[after takiung out 2 allen key bolts] pop out old shoes pop in new ones.put antiseize on bolt threads and bolt bushings ,replace caliper Saturns use a 14mm hex socket to remove the caliper bolts, both front and rear ( for a rear disk brake option) always use anti seize on threads, but do not use anti seize on the bushings. use Sylglyde or some type of impurity free grease. Anti seize is made up of aluminum shavings, and will actually inhibit the proper movement of the caliper pins against the bushings.
Thermostat may be stuck open. Replace the thermostat and flush and replace the coolant with a 50/50 mix of anti-freeze and distilled water.

Place something beneath the radiator to catch the anti-freeze. Remove the radiator drain plug. Allow the anti-freeze to drain completely out. Replace the drain plug to its original position. Fill the system with new anti-freeze.
