relay is located under the steering wheel above the fuses,if you have a torch it has flasher unit writen on it, it is very difficult to remove, i had to undo and remove the bonnet catch to get to it good luck

The oil sending unit on a 2002 wrx subaru is almost under the alternator. I suggest you remove the alternator and it is easier to remove the oil sending unit.
first remove indicator lens ,screw on inside of wing.Then remove screw at side of removed lens both upper bolts and then remove nut from underneath headlight.
Locate unit. (Under intake manifold.) Disconnect. Remove. Clean out unit with "Carb cleaner" or related. Reinstall. ;).
Front indicator bulbs - remove the complete headlight unit - see 'related answers' for this. Rear indicator bulbs - unfasten the rear light unit which is held in by a big plastic wing-nut on the inside. Lift the hatch and reach in behind the light unit. You will feel a hole in the trim and inside it a plastic wing-nut. Unscrew that and the rear light unit will come loose but will still be retained by two plastic pegs, top and bottom, on the outside. Get a firm grip of the light unit with both hands and give a sharp tug to release the plastic pegs. The light unit will now hang on its wiring. Bulb holders are twist-and-turn.
The indicator flasher unit in your 1996 automobile is located beneath the dashboard. The unit simply plugs in and out.

I had this problem, you have to replace the indicator arm, switch. Look for one on e bay as they are expensive. Easy job to do, steering wheel off. unplug the wires and remove unit , two screws.
remove old oil sending unit located next to the distributor. At an auto parts store buy the socket made just for the oil sending unit. You only need to remove the air covers.
