I ran OTR in an 07 730, and I'm a mechanic for a fleet which has newer model Volvos in the fleet, so I can tell you it remains the same.. On the bottom of the steering column, there's a lever which faces towards the seat... from the bottom of that lever, you pull out. That's your hood release.
