The Porsche Boxster was introduced in 1997. It derives its name from the engine style, a water cooled horizontally opposed engine, also known as a "boxer." Porsche simply combined "boxer" with "roadster" and came up with a unique name, Boxster.
In my 2003 Boxster S, the handle lifts up. The console pushes in.
I am completely and totally positive that it's spelled "Boxster." I looked it up on Google.
Unlatch the two roof latches above driver and passenger. Partially press the roof switch on the dash to unlock the bolt. Push roof up manually. You will need to exit the car and reach your arm under the roof to push it open. It is quite heavy and needs some strength to carefully lift it away from the car. It is stored in boot when not in use - on my model Porsche supplied a very snug-fitting zip cover to avoid it getting scratched. To refit roof ensure the wind deflector at front of roof opening is verical then carefully place roof onto the deflector before lowering into place. This also requires some strength. I think it would be difficult for a person of slight stature. Finally reclip latches and press roof open switch to test ok.
It probably the airbag sensor. If it is a Boxster prior to 2000 it has just gone bad with age. Go to your local shop to have it replaced. It shouldn't be too expensive around $50 to $75 dollars depending on the shops mark up and price per hourly service.
If it's the manually operated soft top, you pick it up by the handle, and carefully lower it into place, and then refasten the latches on the front interior part of the roof.
Depending upon the year and accessories in a Porsche boxter and the current condition of the vehicle, prices can range up to approximately $40,000. Excessive mileage on used vehicles greatly reduce their value.
Once the windows are fully down push the down button in the down position and hold it there until you hear a double click from the motor, about three seconds. Do the same in the up mode.

there is usually a set of connections in the fuse box. My 911 has a little plug that pulls out and you connect a 12V back up battery to unlock the hood. Use a spare battery or a vehicle battery (with engine off).
First you make sure the doors are unlocked. If they aren't the fuel door will be lock. If they are unlocked all you have to do is push down on the right side of the fuel door and it will swing open then untwist the fuel cap.
Jack the car up, access the engine bay from below, you will see a black plastic cylinder, carefully unscrew it with an oil wrench (wrap cloth to prevent scratching the plastic cylinder) and you will access the filter. Good luck.
