Presumeably you have a 5 speed zf auto box, and in that case you do not check the fluid level in the normal way as it has no dipstick, and is supposedly sealed for life, although it is adviseable to have the oil changed at each 60,000 miles, use the correct esso atf oil though,(and no other) (important).
