You first need to remove the drain pug and washer under the car on the oil pan, then you'll need to unscrew the oil filter cap, with a special cap you can buy at Autozone or Napa,,replace the filter and gasket, put the screw and washer back on underneath, undo the oil cap and a 1.9 takes around 4.20 liters a six more check your owners manual to make sure what the spec are..........Max

the 328i BMW if it is the M52 engine should be using 5w30 synthetic oil, same as the 2.8 Z3

The BMW z4 replaced the BMW z3 in late 2002. The BMW z3 was introduced in 1996 shortly after staring in a James Bond movie. Not as easy on the eyes as the z3 but just as nice.
According to the haynes manual it is under the glovbox on the blower box but it isn't theres in a 1998 BMW z3 and i am trying to research the location
