It's an emergency "wallet" key. Basically, BMW made it really small and lightweight, so if you lose your original keys (or lock them inside your car) you can still open it if you've stashed the "wallet" key in your purse or wallet. f.y.i. only use it in a EMERGENCY. i used it when i run marathons and it cracked in the igintion and i cound not start the car. BE CAREFULL
you use the key that you start the engine with
wrong key when using the remote starter the starter does't crank long enough to start the car. Starting the car with the key the car starts five. Could use some help.
Well you should use the emergancy break or jump out of the car when you have the best chance.
Do you really expect people to tell you how to steal a car? If it's your car, use the key.
just buy a remote start for it -- trust me -- it will save you grief in the long run. Your key is likely not being read because of the amount of use in the ignition, the remote start simulates the resistor in your key to the security system so it can remote start the car. I just use the remote start when the key wont work.
Get in car. Buckle up. Start car. (Put key into ignition and turn key.) Put Shift into gear. Press Gas to Go. (Peddle farthest to the right.)
Use jumper cables attached to either another car or use a jump start kit. If the car has a manual transmission, you can push start it by turning the key, putting the car in 1st gear, pushing it and then popping the clutch.
To use a car, first, unlock the doors with the key or key fob. Then, sit in the driver's seat and adjust your seat and mirrors. Next, insert the key or push the start button to start the engine, put your foot on the brake, shift the gear into drive or reverse, and begin to accelerate slowly. Remember to obey traffic laws and signals while driving.
After running my regular key through the wash, I have been using the "valet" key. Other than the fact that I must manually unlock the doors, it seems to work well. I drive an ML320. Besides, the valet key fits better on my key ring.
Use the metal key.
Use the key when the battery goes dead in your remote sender or if the vehicle battery goes completely dead and the door lock solenoids won't work. In an emergency, the key also allows you to give access to your vehicle (on a temporary basis) to someone you don't want to have permanent access.
