i have a 2002 vw golf tdi, i found a oil that i use that is approved by vw, its a castrol syntec 5w-40
Castrol Edge - this is the replacement for SLX ii - as described on the bottle. This is the oil to use for the longsife servicing option.
"GT" stands for "Grand Touring" and "TDI" stands for "Turbo Diesel Intercooled" TDI actuly stands for Turbo Direct Injection Turbocharged Direct Injection (TDI) is the name VW use to describe their modern turbocharged diesel engines.
Use 5W30. 5W40 diesel-rated oil would be right for a TDI.
A diesel engine would use 15w40 a gas engine could use 15w40 or 10w40
Open the Drivers door, its on the left side of the dash. You will need to use something to pry open the side cover. There is a little hole that you can use to help pry the cover open.
I use 15w40
12 quarts of 15w4012 quarts of 15w40
10W40 or 15W40
15w40
I use 15w40
No, use exactly what the manufacture recommends.
