you could, but than you would have to change verything except for the block itself, so the cheaper option would be to get a drivetrain from a wrecked Golf/jette diesel.
Should be approx. 4.5L with an oil filter change. I recommend using Shell rotella 15w-40 oil. -1991 Diesel Jetta/1986 Diesel Golf/ 1985 Gas Jetta owner
You cannot convert a diesel to gas or a gas to diesel. They are made differently. You can change engines but not convert an engine.
No, you cannot convert a gas engine to a diesel engine. A diesel requires much stronger parts.
No
You'd need to swap in a gas engine. A lot of people believe that the Oldsmobile 5.7 LF9 diesel was a gas engine converted into a diesel - this is simply not true.
I have a 2003 Jetta Wagon with the 1.8 Turbo (gas). Owner's manual says 1500 lbs with trailer brakes. Trust this helps.
Yes, they get better mileage, more torque, and are cleaner burning. You can tow twice that with a diesel pickup than you could with a gas pickup. Diesel cars get amazing mileage. 55mpg for a volkswagen Jetta TDI.
Realistically it wouldn't be feasible to convert a diesel engine to gas. Diesel motors require much greater compression - enough that it could cause an explosion with a gas-configured motor. Plus, diesel doesn't use ignition or spark plugs, and the fuel pump/fuel ignition systems are completely incompatible.
Easy...you take out the old diesel engine, drop a gasser in. Not rocket science
I think 14?? the diesel holds 14 gallons... so im thinking that's the same?
