They all make excellent tires.
Each company makes many different types of tires. They both make premium tires and also make a value line of tires. You have to compare them evenly. Both companies make excellent tires. Uniroyal tire company is owned by Michelin Tires. Cooper is owned by no other company and makes tires for Avon, Dean, Mastercraft, Futura, Hercules, Arizonian, & Starfire. At one time they manufactured all Sears Guardsman tires. You will not go wrong with either brand of tire.
Michelin tires are made of higher quality materials to last longer. They are more expensive than Goodyear, however they will not tear or rip quite as easily.
michelin tyre's are much better than cooper tires I'm sure but i prefer Pirelli tires anyway. Its best to compare the specific tire that you are looking at, there can be alot of differences between tires even within a brand
Michelin makes many different tires and they do cost more than other brands, but are well known as excellent tires for grip and mileage.
Goodyear makes tires that are less expensive generally than Michelin tires. In quality they both have a wide range of products designed for specific niches in the market. Michelin makes superior tires at the higher end, but you need to compare tires according to the individual product rather than by brands.
for the stock tire size, I have ad Michelin Exalto on my 97 e320, much better than the stock Michelin MXV4 Energy tires. I have been using the Exalto for 34,000 miles and almost three years. I would buy these tires again.
Yes, however beware, becasue while they do offer the highend michelin tires that you can get at a dealership or tire store, they also offer many "exclusive" tires that are unavailable anywhere else. These "exclusive" tires are generally lower cost than a name brand tire, and while some of these tire perform well it is basically akin to getting an off brand tire with the michelin name on it.
The life of any tire depends how you treat it and how you drive. Continental are no better or worse than any medium average tire, they're not Michelin, but not junk either.
I just bought a new set of Michelin PRIMACY P215/55R17 tires at COSTCO to replace the OEM Turanza. Rides better than new. The original tires rode like a rock. The PRIMACY are quiet and offer a smooth ride and offer a 60,000 mile warranty.
They have more traction.
Yes, they are IMO.
