Occurent.

The occurrent clanging of the bell indicated it was time to leave.

It sounds awkward to me though and, even though it would be incorrect, I would rather use occasional.

The occasional clanging of the bell indicatied it was time to leave.

However, occurrent strongly tells us that the bell is continuing to clang, whereas occasional only indicates that this is so.
