Resolution refers to the part of a story where the main conflicts are resolved, and loose ends are tied up. Denouement, on the other hand, is the final outcome or unraveling of the plot, usually occurring after the climax. In simpler terms, resolution focuses on resolving conflicts, while denouement focuses on the aftermath and final conclusion of the story.

There is no difference. They are one and the same thing both meaning the point where the main conflict is settled one way or another even, as sometimes happens, the exact resolution is nor made specific but is left to the imagination or interpretation of the reader. In literature, especially for short stories the terms are interchangeable.

Denouement and resolution mean the same thing: the end of a drama where the loose ends are tied up. The word catastrophe is sometimes used to describe the denouement or resolution of a tragedy, especially a classical tragedy constructed according to the descriptions given in Aristotle such as the tragedies of Corneille or Racine.
