The word, "Legacy" is a noun. Not sure that there is any direct replacement. What you can do is add an adjective such as:

atrocious, abominable, awful, dreadful, painful, terrible, unspeakablecorked, corkydeplorable, distressing, lamentable, pitiful, sad, sorryfearful, frightfulhard, toughhopelesshorridicky, lousy, rotten, stinking, stinkyillincompetent, unskilledmediocrenaughtynegativepoorprettyrubber, no-goodsevereswingeinguncoolunfavorable, unfavourableunsuitable

Legacy officially become an adjective circa 1990 within the IT community to describe existing system that normally needed to be replaced. However an antonym for the word never caught on. I would suggest using legatee

if enough people start using it, it too will be adopted as an adjective.

Cheers!

Legacy means something handed down from an ancestor predecessor and it's a noun. A synonym for legacy is heritage.

Even More synonyms: bequeathal, bequeathment, bestowal, devisal, devise, dower, endowment, estate, gift, heritage, inheritance, legacy, settlement, trust
