this word in not widely used, it is English, possibly from the Lincolnshire and/or Yorkshire. It can mean Ornaments, Trinkets or Bits of Things and it can also mean, in culinary situation, food on the plate that accompanies meat, Potatoes, Parsnips, Gravy ets

Origin not known, but it appears in the English Dialect Dictionary of 1906, being used in Yorkshire/Lincolnshire areas. Also, other parts of Northern England, but slightly different spelling. I can mean Bits and Pieces or Trinkets. In a culinary fashion is means vegetables that accompany meat on the dinner plate
