The filet mignon was delicious. I enjoyed the filet mignon. My friend didn't like the filet mignon as he found it undercooked and underseasoned. Filet mignon is French for 'cute fillet' or 'dainty fillet.'
It's an abominable english invention!. I have no idea where it came from. Neither petit or petite is used in French to refer to filet mignon. If you are tryingt to say small then it would be petit since filet is masculine. However I think they use petite in reference to the size such as women's dress sizes - as in petite cut. Frankly both uses make me want to barf and slap people who use it with my filet mignon. If you must use a french word to refer to a piece of beef then at least abstain from adding pompousness to it and just call it filet mignon. If you really must use petit or petite then decide if you want to impress shallow americans (use petite) or appease the french that might come in the restaurant (use petit). Frankly I would just indicate how many ounces it was.
That is the correct spelling of "flay" (to strip off the surface, or lash). The similar-sounding word is filet, (fih-LAY) a narrow strip, as of meat or fish.
Hi I believe the spelling with two l's is the American spelling similar to Cabling, labeling etc. The American spelling is more usually with two l's the English with one.
what does the word inaudible mean
The word "filet" is masculine in French. So you would use "le filet" to refer to a filet.
Almost. The word is filly, not filet. The word filet has a few different meanings, including a cut of beef.
Filet of fish (fish filet)

I would like to have my filet mignon cooked medium well, please. Filet mignon is not on the breakfast menu...
The french word for a bridle is "un filet".
If you mean a filet of marinated herring rolled around slices of marinated onions and pickles: this is called a ROLLMOPS in German, my translation program gives me the English word "rollmop"
