Third person limited point of view occurs when the narrator of a story knows only the thoughts and feelings of one character. The other characters are presented only externally without inside knowledge of their thoughts and feelings.

Third person limited POV is when the story is told from the perspective of someone who isn't in the story that only has a limited view of what is happening, rather than from an omnipresent view, in which the narrator would know everything that happens.

An example of third person limited is the passage is only telling about only one characters thoughts or feelings there may be other characters in the story but only ONE characters thoughts or feelings are revealed.

Such as....

Becky walked to the library to purchase a book it was cold the day she walked she was so happy that her mother sent her on this errand because her cousins had come to visit and they were very hyper. Becky didn't feel like being around them at this time she wanted to be alone or at least with one of her friends but just not her cousins at this moment.

The third person limited point of view gives the reader omniscience that is limited to one character. "For Whom the Bell Tolls" by Ernest Hemingway is an example of a story told with a third person limited perspective.

Examples: " Theodore Roosevelt was our 26th president. " Examples: " Payton and Emma were switching places in school once again! " You just don't say I or me, or something like you. You have to put that persons name you are talking about first.
