Flipendo's effect is similar to that of Stupefy. In the first few Harry Potter Video Games Flipendo was used as a stunning spell similar to Stupefy. Stupefy will stun your enemies and possibly knock them unconsciousness where as Flipendo will only knock someone back.

How do you beat Flourish and Blotts in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets?

all you have to do is go downstairs and go to the opened door beside the front desk. there should be a big scale on which you cast flipendo on. You have to cast a full bodied flipendo spell for it to work. Then go through the small door on which you climb through. If you go near the fireplace, a line of barrels will surrond one of Ginny's items. Cast a full bodied flipendo spells on them for you to get through to receive the item.
