What the function of motor operated valve actuator?

The main function of a valve actuator is to control the valves ON to Close or modulating the valve, and the motor operated valve actuator is one important kind of valve actuator, the main different between kind valve actuators is it drive by electric power.

What is a pneumatic solenoid operated spool valve?

spool valveA spool valve is a multidirectional hydraulic or pneumatic valve usually operated by a joystick. It has several hoses attached to it leading to different pneumatic rams. When the joystick is pushed in one direction, it causes the valve to shut off one of the pneumatic hoses leading to the ram and open the other. Which way the joystick is pushed moves the piston in the ram in or out. Since you specified a solenoid operated valve it is operated not by a joystick that is directly connected to the valve but rather an electric joystick like the you would use in a video game and an electrical signal is sent to activate a solenoid that does the same thing but can be much farther away from the operator. Solenoid Actuated Pneumatic Spool ValveA solenoid actuated pneumatic spool valve is a spool valve actuated by an electric solenoid. They are often used in industrial automation and are usually controlled by a PC or a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) rather than a manual switch. To reduce the size and power consumption of the solenoid, often the solenoid does not directly actuate the spool. Instead, the solenoid actuates a small internal valve which directs upstream air pressure to move the spool. This is called an air piloted solenoid actuated pneumatic spool valve. The air pilot mechanism typically requires about 40 PSI to operate reliably. If the air pressure upstream of the valve is going to be less than 40 PSI, the valve must be externally piloted, meaning that the pilot is connected to a separate air source which is above 40 PSI.

How a deluge valve works?

Deluge valves are hydraulically operated differential type valves used to control water supply to a deluge system. Deluge systems use open sprinklers or nozzles. Trim sets are used to control the operation of the valve.

What are the advantages of motor operated valves over pneumatic valves?

Good question Usually motor operated valve used in big pipe lines sizes which it is need strong torque and for ON/OFF condition not to control the process, We can use rather than M.O.V pneumatic ON/OFF valve with piston actuator (Double Acting) but in this case the accessories it will cost you more because you need to provide pneumatic amplifier and big actuator depend on the pipe size. That is why better to use M.O.V the motor will rotate the gears and the gears will rotate the valve with low cost. Contact me for more clarification if there is.

What is the use of valve spring?

Valve springs keep valves firmly seated in the socket.

Can use rupture disk at the place of pressure safety valve at WikiAnswers?

Rupture disk are perfectly available as replacement of sfaety relief valves if you will consider that they are non-reclosing. In the case of an activation the pressure relief opening will remain open afterwards, where in the cas eof safety relief valve the device is reclosing.

How is working motorized operated valve?

motor is used as a actuator here. we can use globe, ball, butterfly type valves

Where do you use a thermocouple?

It is used on older gas trains to furnaces, water heaters ect. to prove that a pilot light is lit. The pilot heats to dissimilar metals such as copper and steel and craetes a small electric current that will allow the main gas valve to open when the fuel is called for by the stat. The current does not open the valve it simply tells the valve that it is okay to open because the pilot light is lit. In more modern systems a uv sensor ( ultra violet) will sense the light of the pilot to open the main gas valve.........Hope this helps, Dave

How to clean the pilot on your furnace?

Remove the pilot assembly from the furnace and clean it up. You need to be careful when putting it back on at the gas valve so as not to crossthread the screw. Take a thin wire and clean the pilot orifice, then use a brush or sandpaper on the thermocouple.

What is a variable valve timing solenoid?

This component is electrically operated by the engine computer. It (on most vehicles) changes the oil pressure in the variable valve timing system to adjust the valve timing. It is very similar to the solenoids in use inside an automatic transmission.

Who need to use a diverter valve?

A diverter valve is used in turbocharged car engines as part of a pressure relief system. It helps to prevent a compressor surge as well as reduce the wear and tear on the engine and turbocharger.

Where is the termocouple in hot water tank?

The thermocouple runs from the pilot light to the control valve. One end sits in the flame from the pilot light and the other is screwed into the bottom of the control valve. It is a copper colored wire/tube about twice the size of the lead in a pencil. It should be beside the larger tube that runs from the control valve to the burner. This is only on gas or propane heaters. They use the same type. Electric heaters do not have one.
