If the pipe is No Hub cast Iron you can use a mission cap If the cast Iron is bell then you caulk in a cast iron plug If the cast iron is a spigot end you get a transition coupling either standard weight CI or extra heavy and then use a cast iron cap in the transition coupling

Cast iron is, as the name implies, "iron" which has been "cast", or melted and poured into a mold. The material is usually not really pure iron but rather an alloy including carbon and (often) silicon.
A cast iron tub is about 325lbs. steel is about 75lbs. Tap on tub if it sounds solid it is cast iron.
Cast Iron does not rust or corrode as steel can
Because grey cast iron is not malleable, it has a crystalline structure that cannot be reformed cold.
Cast iron can be chromed, but it needs to be treated first. I would bake the claw feet at 400 Degrees for a couple of hours, to remove the hydrogen. The chrome should adhere better then!
Cast iron is a type of iron that cannot be easily welded due to its high carbon content, which can lead to cracking during the welding process. Additionally, cast iron has a high melting point and poor ductility, making it challenging to weld compared to other types of iron.
they had them chromed for military parades I have seen many chromed pieces for sale on ebay.com and gunbroker.com
Cast Iron. Cast Iron can be "seasoned" which creates a "non"-stick coating while cast Aluminum cannot. I have used both cast Iron and cast Aluminum; the rosettes made with the Aluminum irons never release as well as rosettes made using the cast Iron. Given how delicate rosettes are after frying and how HOT as well; I have never had the same success rate using the aluminum irons.
No, cast iron is much more brittle and cannot withstand as much pressures as cast steel. It cannot be used for many of the same purposes that cast steel can be used for. Yes you can condsider steel casting and casting irom the same. Mainly because both are as strong as one another.
Cast iron is fabricated in blast furnaces where iron ore is reduced by coke to cast iron, according to Wikipedia.
no cast iron is more superior than foregn iron
cast iron consists of 2% - 4% of carbon in it. cast iron is pig iron remelted and thereby refined together with definite amount of limestone, steel scrap, and spoiled castings. it consists of small % of sulphur, silicon, phosphorus and manganese wrought iron is highly refined iron with a small amount of slag forged out into fibres. it consists of 99% iron. it is almost the purest form of iron. it is highly ductile, rusts extremely quickly, it cannot be heat treated

When Pig Iron is melted and recooled it is called Cast Iron
During the manufacture of Cast Iron, an intermediate product is Pig Iron. Further processing results in Cast Iron.
