The Masdar is a fascinating project of the future. If all goes well, a few years from now. It will house 50,000 people and will be carbon neutral, it will be the first city in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates with zero carbon emissions. The city will be built in a way that the sun's direction is away from the sides of building and windows. The streets will be narrow, just to let people walk by and so the buildings will shade each other. Electricity for the city will come from solar paneling and solar collectors on the roof tops of buildings. Vehicles will be banned from the city, instead it will have slim vehicles similar to a car that can carry up to 6 people and which will be solar powered and also battery operated. The futuristic vehicles will run in subways freely anywhere with out fixed routes. The route is programmed by the 'driver', then it takes the passengers to the destination. Water that is used in homes or for gardens will be recycled. The water one uses to wash some vegetables in a sink, the water go to drainage but it will be recycled in order to be used again for other purposes. All waste will be converted to energy and uses as nutrients for soil. The whole purpose of Masdar City is to reuse or recycle everything that is in it even some of the construction materials around gardens and city.
