I am a senior student in mechanical engineering I ve been looking for this answer for a long long time but i cannot even find a degree specialized in stress analysis
So i guess that in order to become a stress analyst, you need to master:
Mechanical Design
Mechanics
Strength of Materials
Mechanics of Solid
Also I suggest that you start using some mechanical design and stress analysis programs in order to be fully fonctional when you ll apply for a job
CATIA/PRoE
NASTRAN/ANSYS
I ve been doing it with CATIA and ANSYS
Of course i did not purchase the licence if you know what i mean (internet is a goldmine) ...
Take care.
