Why you use capacitor with voltage regulator ic 7805?

in ic 7805 their is two capacitor is used one of them is used for the settling/transient time and another is used to provide inductive effect....

You are making a battery low indicator with IC 7805 why is IC 7805 used in it?

A: an lm7805 Is a positive regulator if enough voltage is available it will regulate to ~5 volts that is only purpose no matter how it is used.

Why use7085 ic in voltage regulator?

It will be 7805 in which 7 is company code; 8 means positive voltage & 05 is amount of positive voltage output.

Is IC 7805 used as constant current source?

yes you can use IC 7805 as constant current source, Please see the data sheet application for LM7805 in typical application but you must know what the temp that IC 7805 is working at becomes the output voltage drift is - 0.8 mV/C at Vin =10 volt.

What is function of 7805 IC?

Ic 7805 we are mostly used for regulator & its minimum input voltage is 7.2 V. Sandeep Chauhan

What are the Advantages and disadvantages of IC voltage regulator?

IC voltage regulator performs better than any analog voltage regulator. Some IC regulators IC no. are given below- Positive IC voltage regulator- 78xx Negative IC voltage regulator-79xx where xx varies according to the use of ICs raring. as 7805 gives the positive 5 Volt & 7905 gives the negative 5 volt.

What are the Examples for linear ic and nonlinear ic?

Why isn't 7805 voltage regulator putting out 5v Its putting out 15.6v?

There could be a number of reasons. A 7805 has three pins: Voltage in, voltage out and an earth. If the earth is not tied to the earth reference (ground) of the circuit, the output will be held close to the input voltage. If there are no suppression capacitors on the inputs and outputs, high frequency oscillation can be present and at a level where some meters will read it as a DC shift. The IC may be damaged. It has a maximum input voltage of around 35V (dependent on the specific IC). Exceeding the input voltage doesn't do the IC any good at all. The other possibility is that the output side of the IC is being fed with a voltage from another part of the circuit. Keep taking the meter readings with the IC in circuit and out of circuit and one of these errors is likely to show up.
