When there is a problem in the body, e.g. too much glucose in the blood, a message is sent to the hypothalamus in the brain. the hypothalamus sends a message to the pancreas to release insulin. when the muscles bind insulin, they take in the glucose in the blood, and store it as glycogen.

However, when the blood glucose level then drops below what it should be as the muscles are still taking it in, a message is sent back to the hypothalamus to stop the signal to secrete insulin. This message back to the hypothalamus is called negative feedback.

Is the ADH feedback loop an example of positive or negative feedback?

The ADH feedback loop is an example of a negative feedback loop. Negative feedback loops occur when the output of a system acts to oppose the changes to the input of the system. This is the case with ADH because when there is not enough water, the hypothalamus and pituitary gland work to release ADH so that the body can retain more water.

Is urinating a negative feedback?

Urinating is not an example of negative feedback. Negative feedback is a process that uses the result of a process to regulate the process itself, maintaining homeostasis. Urinating is a normal physiological process to eliminate waste and regulate fluid balance in the body.

What are the example of negative and positive feedback in geography?

A negative feedback would be if the planet heats up, the glaciers will melt, lowering the albedo effect of the snow, and in turn causing the planet to heat up more That is positive feedback, not negative. Positive feedback enhances the initial stimulus, negative feedback reverses the initial stimulus. The planet starts by heating up, then heats up even more, which is positive feedback.

Is the ADH feedback loop an example of positive or negative feedback explain?

The ADH feedback loop is an example of negative feedback. When blood osmolality is high, it triggers the release of ADH, which acts to reabsorb water in the kidneys, thereby reducing blood osmolality. Once blood osmolality decreases, ADH secretion diminishes, creating a feedback loop that maintains homeostasis.
