You can get them from EBAY

http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-GW-Good-Work-Rectifier-IN5399-Diode-RoHS-Free-/390062236202

----

You can get them from ebay but you would be paying 50 cents for a 4 cents device plus shipping. which in my humble opinion is a ripoff.

Farnell still sells this device for GBR 0.03p (4 Cents).

or you could substitute it with something like the CR1-100

Does the dynamic impedence of a zener diode vary?

A: Yes it does since the break down is not exactly very linear.

Which type of diode used in bridge rectifier?

You can use most diodes for that purpose, and particularly silicon diodes. However, you should not use zener diodes and similar for rectification purposes. Otherwise, you will likely not get the intended result. If the voltage exceeds the avalanche voltage, then the zener diode will no longer rectify, but conduct the other way as well.

How do you calculate the voltage across each diode and load resistor in a bridge diode configuration?

Assuming that at one time a positive potential exists on a anode then assign a [+] to that point follow this procedure for all diodes and resistors. You can calculate Boltzmann impedance of a diode but industry wise a .6v to.8v is standard practice for a diode drop since it follow an exponential curve. .6 volts is for low current and .8volts is for more current

How do you test diode?

To test a diode, you can do a variety of tests. The easiest may be measuring the resistance across the leads of a diode. One side should read very high resistance, over 1 megohm, while the other should read a moderate amount of resistance, maybe a few hundred thousand ohms. This is a sign that a diode works. If both sides read very high resistance, the diode is open. If both sides read very low resistance, then the diode is shorted.

What will happen when plus 5V is applied to a 4.7V zener diode in reverse bias condition?

Since the zener conducts and regulates voltage in reverse bias, the 5V would bias the zener on with a 4.7V drop. If the 5V source had a low enough impedance, the zener or the source would self destruct.

Can you have a sentence with the word obsolete?

When a 3.3 V zener diode is parallel with a 7 V zener diode what is the break down voltage?

Since they are in parallel, the 3.3V zener diode will "kick in" first when you reach 3.3V, and the circuit will pretty much act the same as if the 7V zener diode isn't there at all.

Why diode dose not allow to set voltage more than 0.7volts across it?

The barrier potential of the silicon diode is 0.7v if the applied voltage across it is more than this voltage then PN-junction of the diode breaks, once pn-junction breaks the voltage across the diode is constant, since it breaks at 0.7 this voltage will be constant and not exceed for any further increase in applied voltage -inform.mayaprasad@gmail.com The voltage across junction will only exceed from 0.7 volt (for silicon diode) in the case of reverse biasing the applied total voltage will appear across p-n junction. ANSWER: .7 VOLTS is an arbitrarily chosen number since a diode any diode have an exponential curve V vs I . This number is chosen when using a diodes but there are times when a greater or lesser voltage is chosen to reflect the application and the current trough the diode determine that. Example a diode gate diode will be chosen as .6 volts rather then .7v and a heavy conducting rectifier may have .8 volt to reflect closely the true value of the diode drop during real conditions

Is diode ohmic or non-ohmic conductor?

Diode is a non-ohmic conductor since in diodes current-voltage relation ship does't obey Ohm's law....the relationship between current and voltage is nonlinear here,...

What is a seven letter word for antique that starts with O?

Antique has a synonym of obsolete. Obsolete has a synonym of outmoded. Since outmode is a transient verb it is always conjugated. But outmode is a word, it is 7 letters and it is a synonym for antique.

Did someone ask the question can you use a transistor as a diode there is a device called a transistor diode connect base to either c or e forgot which to make a zero bias diode?

You can use a transistor as a diode if you connect the base to the collector. Any forward current through the base-emitter junction would cause a corresponding increase in the available current through the collector-emitter junction. Since the base-emitter and collector-emitter junctions are in parallel, this would effectively be a diode, but a true diode would be a better solution if diode functionality is what seek. A: There are actually two diodes, per se, inside a transistor. The base to emitter diode will suffice. By tying the collector to the base it will in effect be two diodes in parallel.

Is web 1.0 obsolete?

I would say yes... since it has been superseded by at least four updated versions !

Can you use diode as trangister?

A: YES but not directly. for instance a discrete differential amplifier one side need to be a transistor to recover gain but the other transistor can be a diode since in real time that is the operative base to emitter current difference. .

Are Microsoft Word programs obsolete?

No. Microsoft Word is still in widespread usage. However, some of the older versions particularly Office 95 and prior, could be considered obsolete since very few people use them anymore.
