There is no external filter on the 2000 tl--its internal to the transmission----you will have to flush the transmission-to clean the filter-or dismantel it. Lot easier to take to a dealership or local garage and have the transmission flushed..
Depending on the maker you can remove the breech plug and of course the sights and underlug. It is not an easy task to remove the plug and without proper tools usually results in a buggered up barrel or plug. You would need a barrel vise and a breech plug wrench, some heat and penetrating oil. I would recommend taking it to a gunsmith in your area.

most likely behind the dash on the right side below the ashtray. I know this because I have an 89 couldn't find the flasher fuse had to brake a part of the plastic to get to it unless you want to dismantel the entire dash. Good luck Actually the flashers on a 91 Toronado are on the driver side and can be reached by taking off the panel below the dash and the flashers will be near the steering colum on the right side of the colum.
OK here is wat u do u get bouncer the blue puffle to throw a snowball at the edge of the volt then the robot will go to the roof follow it there. then get bouncer to throw a snowball at the computer that the robot is holding. it will drop the computer then get flare the black puffle to use the welding torch in his mouth on his belly then dismantel him with the gadget in your spy gadget after u dun that get pop tha purple puffle to surround him with a bubble
Maybe this could help you start to rebuild your dashboard. http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/faq/Cooling.html#HeaterCoreLeaks Volvo 940 is prey easy to dismantel compared with other cars. Added by Al Check the valve first and make sure you have coolant flow. Both hoses that go into the dash should get hot. Make sure the controls work, doors etc. Heater cores usually fail by leaking. If it's not leaking try flushing the cooling system.

If the speedo is not working too, see the previous question. If not check for vacuum leaks; Check the hose from the pump to the servo(diaphragm) that pulls the throttle. Check the servo for leaks. Then check electrical wiring and connections. For more (better) troubleshooting hints see; http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/CruiseControl.htm Good Luck ### (JH) The problem with the cruise control of the Volvo 940 is that the small wires inside the CC unit on the steringwheel are damaged. Repair is possible. Dismantel the CC unit from the steringwheel and replace the wires. (4 x 0.75 x 75 cm)
