when we want maximum resistance they are connected in series.

when resistors are connected in series total resistance is maximum

when resistors are connected in parallel total resistance is minimum

for series total R=R1+R2+R3.........

for parallel R1 in parallel to R2 total 1/R=(1/R1)+(1/R2) ie R=(R1*R2)/(R1+R2)

What will happen to the other resistor if the number of resistor decreases?

the voltage across that resistor will increase if it is in series with the other resistors. the current through that resistor will increase if it is in parallel with the other resistors.

What is the time constant of a 0.001 microfarad capacitor and a 15000 ohm resistor connected in series in a dc circuit?

The same as the time constant of a 2.7 microfarad capacitor and a 33 ohm resistor connected in series.

Why you need to connect resistor in series for the practical voltage source?

A resistor is connected in series with a practical voltage source in order to determine the current produced by the source.

When 2 resistors are connected in parallel r1r2 are?

Two resistors connected in parallel are 1/2 the sum of their resistance. The resistance of two resistors connected in series is the sum of their resistance. For example: The total resistance of a 100 ohm resistor connected to a 200 ohm resistor in parallel is 100+200 divided by 2 = 150 ohms. The total resistance of a 100 ohm resistor connected to a 200 ohm resistor in series 100+200= 300 ohms.

What type of meter would be connected on both sides to a resistor in a current?

A multimeter set to measure current (in amperes or milliamperes) would be connected in series to the resistor to measure the current flowing through it. The multimeter would be placed in series with the resistor to accurately measure the current passing through it.

What is the net resistance of two resistor connected in series?

The net resistance of two resistors connected in series is the sum of the two resistances. RSERIES = Summation1toN RN

What is a resistor bank?

In simple way resistor bank contains number of resistors in series or parallel combination. They are connected in parallel to decrease the resistance and increase current rating and power dissipation. And they are connected in series to increase resistance and power dissipation.

Does a resistor only decrease current in a circuit?

A resistor does not only decrease current in a circuit it can also reduce tension(voltage) if connected in series.
