The Herring Gull (Larus argentatus) is in fact listed on the IUCN's Red List Of Threatened Species ver. 2011.1- but is listed as "Least Concern" (LC) which means it's still a long way from being truly threatened, it simply means that there has been a substantial decline in numbers (since the 80's). This goes for the European Herring gull as well as the North American Herring Gull.

Have you ever been to the Netherlands?

I´ve been there recently with a friend, sailing.

We visited this little marina one day and bought what our American friends call french fries.

My friend made the big mistake of putting his on a car roof just for a few moments and leave them unattended.

Just for a few seconds .....

Then they were gone ...

Devoured by the descendants of dinosaurs ... which are extinct due to a meteorite impact 65 million years ago.

But seagulls?

No. Definitely not.

No, geese are not on the endangered species list. Some species of geese were years ago, but have been taken off.
