Methods of amplitude modulation can be put in the two categories namely Linear modulation methods and Square law modulation methods. Linear modulation method utilizes the linear region of the current voltage characteristics of the amplifying device that is transistor or electron tube. Square law modulation method utilizes the square law region of some current voltage characteristics of a diode or transistor or electron tube. A large number of linear modulation methods have been devised and have been used to varying degree. These methods are namely linear shunt plate modulation or anode choke modulation, linear series plate modulation, grid bias modulation, cathode modulation, suppressor grid modulation, screen grid modulation, collector modulation.
Square law modulation circuits make use of non linear current voltage characteristics of diodes or triodes and are in general suited for use at low voltages. Important square law modulation methods are square law diode modulation and balanced modulator.
A diode bridge modulator is one kind of balanced modulator.
A square law device is a system or device that operates based on the principle of square law, which states that a physical quantity is proportional to the square of another quantity. In electronics, square law devices are commonly used in radio frequency circuits to control signal strength or amplitude. One common example of a square law device is a diode, which exhibits square law behavior in its current-voltage characteristics.

what is the difference between balance n product modulator
A diode modulator is a type of AM modulator constructed using diodes. One type of diode modulator is the ring modulator shown in the image.

hello
the output from a balanced modulator consists of modulating freq also. this can be eliminated in a diode modulator by adding two more diodes, making a diode ring. therefore called ring modulator

More Info, If You Do Not Find A Modulator, You Could Have a Different Trans. If You Have A Square Pan With 16 Bolts Then You Have A 4L60 or TH700( no modulator on these) If the pan is oval and 17 Bolts Has 4L80 ( no modulator on these) Hope This Helps You Should Have A TH400 Trans & It Does Have A Modulator.
