no not if its the 2.5lt di ( direct injection) if your van will not start on cold mornings try a boster battrey

That is fine. Its just the hot exhaust meeting the cold air. When it smokes on warm days on start up, then there is a problem, and if it does that then its probably the injectors going bad.
Sounds like a starter or battery problem, possibly wiring problem
Because of the cold and it and the heat is being related
It's not absolute necessity, but it is a good practice to get into.
